Lukas Podolski is very excited about playing in the best League in the world next season and believes that Arsenal are one of the best clubs as well. He thinks he will be suited to the English style of football and will settle in very quickly.

We don’t know exactly what happened yesterday during the meeting between Arsenal’s super striker Robin van Persie, Arsene Wenger and chief executive Ivan Gazidis. Rumours from the Emirates suggest that the Dutchman is concerned about the potential of the Gunners to challenge for trophies next season. At 28-years old, van Persie is dying to collect some silverware in the last years of his career. The Ivory Coast striker Gervinho was the first of Wenger’s arrivals last summer, but after an excellent start to his Arsenal career he seemed to lose confidence in front of goal and never quite reached his potential. Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger seems to have learned a lesson from the season which has just ended (or at least we hope so), as he made the first signing of the summer in quick and timely manner.

It seemed like a done deal that the Ajax captain Jan Vertonghen would be on his way to White Hart Lane this summer, but the two clubs are apparently miles apart in their valuation of the talented 25-year-old.

It is being reported that Tottenham are offering just €10million for Vertonghen, who has only one year left on his contract with the Dutch giants, but Ajax won’t budge from their price of €15million.  .......Read more here......

It was a great end of season for Arsenal. It went right to the wire but it was a remarkable feat to claim third after an abysmal start. Manchester City provided a pulsating last minute win that broke United hearts. It was very funny seeing the confusion on Ferguson’s face at full time, poor old chap. At 10.30 tomorrow morning, Arsene Wenger will sit down with Robin van Persie and chief executive Ivan Gazidis to begin discussions about the future playing career of the 28-year old Dutch master. Of course, Arsenal are desperate to keep their captain who added two player of the year awards to his Premier league Golden Boot. With just a year left on his current deal, Arsenal will need to tie Van Persie to the club or risk letting another top player finish his contract and leave on a free transfer.  .......Read more here......

Arsene Wenger may not have led Arsenal to a trophy for seven long seasons, but he personally has won an award for being the manager of “The best team in the Premier League era” as he coached the brilliant Invincibles who won the title in 2003/04.

As he collected the trophy he acknowledges their excellent record, and believes that his present team has the possibility to emulate his old Arsenal team next season. With the Premiership season now over, Robin Van Persie must make the most difficult decision of his career and choose to stay or leave from Arsenal.

There were numerous unsubstantiated Arsenal rumours going around that Wojciech Szczesny was carrying a shoulder injury and may have to miss the crucial final match against West Brom, but in the match preview on Arsenal.com they denied it completely.

They said: “Wenger is hopeful that Theo Walcott will pass a fitness test on his hamstring and return to the squad after three weeks out. Despite suggestions to the contrary, Wojciech Szczesny is fine.”  .......Read more here......
