After numerous failed attempts to get Lille’s Eden Hazard in the summer transfer season, Arsene Wenger is not letting go of the idea that Hazard could still join his team. According to many reports, Arsenal have already agreed personal terms with the young Belgian, and now it is up to Lille to agree on the price.
Eden Hazard is a 20 year old midfielder who managed to capture the attention of numerous big clubs in the last years. Arsenal has been watching the player for 3 seasons and Wenger wants him by any means necessary to join Arsenal.
Hazard made his professional debut at the age of 16 in League 1 for Lille and in the 4 seasons that have passed since then he managed to become a regular first team player. He scored 29 goals in 148 games for Lille in all competitions, also giving his contribution in another 23 goals he assisted.
He debuted for Belgium’s first representative at the age of 17 gathering 22 appearances and 7 assists since then.
Lille sold a number of important players this summer, including midfielder Cabaye who went to Newcastle and forward Gervinho who joined the Gunners. This was only one of the reasons the French side did not want to let Hazard go, but if motivated by the right amount of money, they might be persuaded in doing so during the winter transfer period.
