Spanish team Valencia has started talks with young star Paco Alcacer for a contract extension which would dissipate any unwanted attention coming from Barcelona or Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger is in a fight against Barcelona to sign 18 year old Valencia striker, but the player may not end up playing for either team given Valencia’s interest to keep him at the club.
At such a young age the player became one of the top targets in Europe after he managed to score for Valencia’s second team 33 goals in 54 games. All the attention must be driven away by Valencia if they want to have a chance to keep the player, given his £8 million release fee.
The club’s president Manuel Llorente has already met with Alcacer’s agents to discuss an extension. Although they did not yet agree upon anything, Llorente wants to make sure the player signs for another 5 years. With the club now in the first place in Spain, if things continue to go this way Alcacer might want to stay and be a part of a Champions League playing squad.
Do you think Alcacer is a player worth taking a look at by Wenger? Can he bring something extra to the club?
