Wenger spoke before the game against Tottenham for Arsenal’s official website about the injuries he will have to deal with against Spurs in the weekend. It seems that Benayoun and Squillaci will be back, with Walcott, Gervinho and Koscielny having a fat chance to do that as well, but Djourou is definitely out.
“Benayoun and Squillaci will be back in normal training on Friday or Saturday. Squillaci has been out for a long time so he won’t be fully match fit. Benayoun has more match fitness.”, said the Frenchman
“Walcott, Gervinho and Koscielny will all be late tests and very late decisions. Saturday or even Sunday morning. Walcott looks the most likely to have a chance. Koscielny maybe less. He is recovering well but the game may come too soon.”
“Djourou is out. The other injuries you know about. There were no other injures from the game against Olympiacos on Wednesday night.”
Chamberlain might be the best option for Wenger if Walcott and Gervinho won’t be back. The kid proved his worth in these last two weeks for Arsenal and might become a viable option. The biggest problems are in the defensive side. Squillaci didn’t get match action for a very long time, and if Koscielny won’t be fit by the time of the game we might see Song in the centre of the defence again.
