An interesting Arsenal transfer rumour says that Wenger might still have a chance to transfer German wonderkid and European star Mario Gotze even as soon as January if the Frenchman will play his cards right and will be ready to pay a fairly large amount of money for the young German international.
After Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund managed to draw against Arsenal in the first Champions League group stage match of this season it all went downhill for them. Dortmund lost against Marseille and against Greek side Olympiakos, and now they are rock bottom in the Champions League group table.
With money running low and now probably without the money infusion a qualification to the Champions League knockout stage would have brought, Dortmund might see itself bound to sell in January just to be able to keep afloat.
Wenger tried to transfer the 19-year-old in the summer, but the transfer was blocked by the Bundesliga side. A fee of about £20 million would persuade them to sell Gotze if Wenger will be ready to offer that much. It would be a great add-on to the club and a midfield pair with Gotze and Wilshere might prove just what Arsenal needs. What do you think Wenger should do about that, and Will Arteta still be used if Gotze will come after Wilshere will recover?
