Arsenal rumours roundup Oct 4th – Chamakh, Podolski, Walcott, Deulofeu and Shea

A lot of rumours are surrounding Arsenal today with players both coming and going. Chamakh is looking for a way out, Podolsky might not join The Gunners after all, Barcelona’s Deulofeu became Wenger’s top transfer priority and Shea came for a trial. But let’s take them one by one.

Probably the most important rumour of them all is Walcott’s contract negotiation. The Sun wrote that Wenger is looking to extend the winger’s contract even further and this might be a good opportunity giving the team’s recent form. Walcott’s still under contract until 2013, but Wenger wants to avoid any episodes like the Nasri one.

It’s also The Sun which tells us that FC Koln is also looking for a contract extension, but this time not in favour of Arsenal. The German team is looking to extend Podolski’s contract in the attempt to keep the striker from joining The Gunners.

General Manager Volker Finke stated: “We should fix this.”

Wenger might not be too satisfied of newcomer Park if he is already looking to transfer another striker, but a footballer like Podolski would always bring something extra to any club.

The Frenchman is looking at yet another winger according to the Daily Mail as MLS 21-year-old starlet Brek Shea has joined Arsenal for a month long trial period.

Wenger is also looking for young players in Europe. He eyed Barcelona’s Gerard Deulofeu after the 17-year-old is stalling his contract talks with the club, and he currently has a £3.5 million release fee according to the Daily Mail.

The last very important transfer rumour of the day is brought to us by The Mirror who talks about Chamakh’s possibility to leave the club in January. Spanish club Sevilla and English side Everton are ready to bid for the player if Wenger would want to let him go. The Morocco forward is unhappy with the current situation at the club and he in looking for a way out.

These are all of today’s transfer rumours. Some are good, some not so much, but the best thing is that there is still hope of having a better team since January. The Frenchman should keep looking at players of Podolski’s skill and he will be on the right track. Don’t you think?
