Arsenal linked with £10m bid for unknown French midfielder

Arsenal are regularly linked with some of the most expensive midfielders on the planet like Mario Gotze, Yann M’Vila and Eden Hazard, but most Gooners understand that Arsene Wenger is much more likely to buy an unknown French player for his top price of £10m!

This is why today’s Arsenal transfer rumour from the Sun has a ring of truth about it, as they report that Wenger has given up any idea of buying the Rennes midfielder M’Vila now that teams like Manchester City have registered an interest and the price is likely to go up to around £25m.

The report says that Wenger has turned his attention to the Toulouse defensive midfielder Etienne Capoue, who has not yet played for the France national team, despite being a regular in the U19 and U21 sides a few years ago.

The 6ft 2in Frenchman is very versatile and can play anywhere in the back line as well as in the middle so is exactly the sort of player that Wenger likes, so this is one Arsenal rumour that I find very believable!
