Arsenal goes shopping for midfielders in Monchengladbach

Borussia Monchengladbach seems to be the hot-spot this season for wanted players. The story about Mark Reus who is wanted by Arsenal, City and United is well known, but now another Gladbach player is set to leave the club, and Arsenal are rumoured to be favourites again.

20-year-old German midfielder Patrick Herrmann is one of the most promising footballers in the Bundesliga, and at the moment big teams are lining up for him. Rumours are that Arsenal will have to fight against Italian Serie A squads Juventus and Napoli for the young star’s signature.

The only thing standing between the midfielder and a contract offer from Arsenal are possible contenders on his position. Wenger already has the injured Wilshere in the squad and at the moment he’s interested in both Gotze and Marko Reus. Both of them are much better than Herrmann, so it will be a fight between the players as well not only the teams.

Currently, Reus is the star of the club and Hermann is seen as second-best, so it won’t be easy to turn this around for him. Wenger will have to weigh his options, but I think that at least a transfer in January is mandatory if he wants to fight for the title.
