Arsenal launch an attack on Europe’s midfielders. Who should come?

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger is so desperate to transfer another midfielder in January that he’s turning all Europe inside-out to find the perfect candidate. Arsenal’s scouts and staff members are seen week in week out at different matches in other European leagues trying to identify new viable targets for Wenger.

Right now the Frenchman’s attempt is a fair one. Arsenal got back in form and they are closing down on the title contenders. If they really want to stand a chance to win the title they must find reinforcements and right now the midfield is the weakest point in the team.

Wenger is trailing a bucket-load of top midfielders, and the most impressive of them all are Eden Hazard, Marco Reus, Patrick Herrmann, Yann M’Vila, Mario Gotze, Javi Garcia and Jan Vertonghen. M’Vila, Vertonghen and Garcia are the ones wanted for the defensive midfielder role, while the others would be brought in for the attacking midfielder role.

From all of these M’Vila and Hazard are two of the best, but also the least probable to join. While M’Vila still has a good chance to join, although he’s followed by Real Madrid and Barcelona, Eden Hazard expressed his interest in joining a strong Spanish side, so he’s expected to choose Real Madrid over the Gunners if Wenger will decide to bid for him.

Any of the above would bring a great deal of skill to the team, and all of them are really welcomed to join. Reus is going through a fabulous form in the Bundesliga and his manager acknowledged speaking to Wenger about the player and Patrick Herrmann, Reus’ colleague, is also in a top form but still in the shadow of Marco who manages to score a goal or give an assist every game.

Mario Gotze doesn’t really need an introduction, he played against Arsenal in the Champions League and he’s about to play once again, and we all know what kind of damage he can do, so he’s arguably the best on the list, but also the most expensive, while Javi Garcia and Vertonghen are the cheapest on the list even though they’d bring a great deal of skill with them. Who do you think Wenger should attempt to transfer?
