One of Arsenal’s most wanted transfer targets of the year is Borussia Dortmund’s attacking midfielder Mario Gotze. The 19-year-old managed to become one of the best players for Germany’s senior national squad at such a young age, and is considered the best future prospect of German football.
Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger submitted several offers for the 19-year-old midfielder in the summer, but none of them were accepted by either him or the club. The German international wanted to spend another year at the club which raised him and Dortmund wanted to be able to use him in this season’s Champions League.
Now that Dortmund are very close to getting knocked out of the Champions League, Arsenal is very likely to submit another offer for the playmaker, and that could even take place tomorrow. According to Sportsmail, The Gunners are going to use the opportunity of Wednesday’s Champions League group stage match against Dortmund to submit another offer for Gotze, and perhaps even secure his signing.
It is rumoured that Wenger is willing to offer as much as £30 million for the young German. Even though it’s not very realistic if we think about the amounts Wenger spent on transfers in the last year, this is a joyful news and probably every Gunner out there is hoping that it’s a true one.
