Arsenal’s defensive problems might be over soon now that full-back Kieran Gibbs is back in full training and has recovered enough to be available for Wenger.
The Frenchman hopes that Gibbs will be fit enough at the end of the week to use against Manchester City. It would be a very tough match for Gibbs to come back from an injury in a match with so much importance, and against strikers with so much pace.
Arsenal is likely to use Koscielny on the right side and Gibbs on the left with Vermaelen and Mertesacker in the centre if the young Gibbs will be available for the Sunday match. Arsenal is likely to have a very hard time at City even though they won 3-0 last season against the Citizens.
Arsene Wenger will have to deal without Santos and Sanga in the defence and probably without Diaby as well. Jenkinson and Wilshere are also still unavailable, but other than that Wenger shouldn’t have any important players missing.
In these circumstances, Arsenal isn’t quite at its best but they do have a fair chance to defeat City if the manager will prepare the match thoroughly. What do you think?
