According to Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director Michael Zorc, the Premiership should stop buzzing around the idea of a possible transfer from the German club to England of young hotshot midfielder Mario Gotze.
The 19-year-old has been linked with a possible move to Arsenal or Manchester United for a long time now, and the Gunner boss Arsene Wenger even attempted to transfer him in the summer when he supposedly submitted a big for the midfielder.
‘Goetze has a contract until 2014. We have no reason to sell him,’ Zorc told Bild,
Despite wanting to keep hold of the player, Dortmund’s official admits that some offers may be persuasive enough.
‘If someone offers a billion euros tomorrow, then you should think about it.’
Wenger is certainly not the one capable of persuasive offers so for Arsenal’s fans if Zorc is really speaking truthfully the story is over. There’s still a chance for United where Ferguson needs a replacement for Fletcher and Scholes and also needs to find a better playmaker.
There’s still hope for Arsenal from Bundesliga where attacking midfielder Marco Reus is waiting for a concrete offer and might be persuaded to leave Borussia Monchengladbach.
