Arsenal seem to have eyed the possibility to transfer yet another big European name who has yet to be given the chance to play at a truly high level.
Rumours have appeared linking Anderlecht’s striker Matias Suarez with a possible move to the Emirates in this January transfer market opening as Arsenal still needs a lengthy transfer who will be able to back Robin Van Persie or perhaps replace him while he is injured.
The 23-year-old is doing great in the Belgian league having scored 14 goals so far this season in 22 matches with Anderlecht, but according to the striker the rumours are still far from being true.
“I do dream of a big transfer, but at the moment it is quiet,” said Suarez.
Arsenal needs a striker as soon as possible as legend Henry will go back at NY Red Bulls at the end of February and Gervinho and Chamakh will be leaving for the African Cup of Nations soon, leaving Wenger very short in the attack.
Suarez proved his worth in UEFA as well having scored 7 goals in 6 matches, so this kind of striker would surely prove a worthy addition to Arsenal’s first team.
