Arsenal’s wonderkid Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is rumoured to be close to a loan move which would send him closer to the eyes of England senior squad manager Fabio Capello who could call the 18-year-old to the EURO 2012 in the summer.
This comes after Chamberlain had quite a downfall following his splendid performances from the start of the season when Capello also praised him. Lately he hasn’t been able to catch a spot within Arsenal’s first team, and he may be looking for a loan move.
“I have been impressed with him,” said Capello at the time.
“He is a really interesting player. He is a good player, who has a lot quality and is playing at a really high level.
“He will be a really interesting player for the next friendly games before the Euros.”
Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger is fond of Chamberlain, but doesn’t want to rush the player into anything and wants to give him time to properly develop. Even though it’s a bit farfetched and he’s still very young, there is a possibility for Chamberlain to join the senior England squad at the EURO 2012, but that won’t happen if he goes at a weak Premiership club which would keep losing and throw him off his game.
