Hibernians checking out Arsenal starlet

It has been revealed today that the Edinburgh club Hibernians have taken the Arsenal starlet Rhys Murphy up to Scotland for a three week trial, and are considering taking him on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal.

Murphy was a highly-rated youth at the Arsenal Academy and was part of the team that won the Youth League and Cup double in 2009, and the following season was loaned out to Brentford where he gained some first team experience, but his recurring foot injury has hindered his development and he has not played much since then.

He was given a trial at the Scottish Champions Rangers, but he wasn’t accepted and has now been offered a place at Easter Road if he can prove his ability hasn’t disappeared.

It would seem that Murphy has run out of chances at Arsenal and the Gunners are hoping that he can find a permanent place in Scotland to continue his career with Wenger’s blessing….
