Have Arsenal fans now had enough of Arsene Wenger?

Recent losses to Sunderland and AC Milan have strengthened the case against the Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. It has been seven years since Arsenal last won a trophy. The current team is the worst team in the history of Arsene Wenger’s reign. The recent spate of poor performances has left Arsenal fans irate. While the board members have announced their confidence in Wenger, fans are calling for his head.

However, fans have had enough. Once a glorious club, Arsenal has had to suffer season after season of disappointments for quite some time now. Finally, Arsenal fans have had enough. They are tired of hearing silly excuses and broken promises. For Wenger, every defeat is just a minor setback.

Robin van Persie is the only guiding light for the Gunners this season and has been excellent in his position. He would remain composed when it mattered and scored exquisite goals. Van Persie’s contract will expire next summer and after this miserable season, most fans expect him to change clubs in the summer as he searches for another elusive trophy.

Persie has a current salary of 70,000 pounds per week and Arsenal have offered to increase it to 100,000 pounds per week to try and persuade the Dutchman to stay. In the past, Arsene Wenger has used his money to invest in promising youth. The reasoning was that they would pay dividends once they gained experience. However, this method has not paid off for the past seven years. Hence Arsenal fans are waiting to see how Wenger would spend the money this time around.

But if Wenger fails to (at least) secure Champions League football for Arsenal next season, will the fans start calling for his head?
