The Arsenal reserve team coach Neil Banfield will oversee Abou Diaby’s latest comeback when the Gunners second team take on Liverpool this evening, and Banfield believes that the injury-plagued midfielder can make a Rosicky-type return from the treatment table.
Banfield said last night: ““He (Diaby) is a top player, it is so frustrating to him and the Club that he has been unable to get a run in the team due to injury,”
“You can see what he brings to the team and hopefully he can get over his injuries in the next few weeks like Tomas Rosicky has. He had his injury problems but is now playing fantastically well and hopefully Abou will go down the same road.”
Rosicky’s resurrection has been completed in the last month when he has been lauded as Arsenal’s best player as the Gunners surged to within one point of their bitter rivals Tottenham.
Can Abou Diaby return as well as that for next season?
