Real Madrid’s semi-flop Nuri Sahin is now once again targeted by some of Europe’s biggest clubs. Arsenal and Chelsea have taken an interest in him again after losing the Turkish defensive midfielder in favor of Real Madrid last summer.
Sahin didn’t get to show his skills too much at Real Madrid because he came from Dortmund with an injury which kept him away from the pitch for the better part of the season, and now that he’s fully fit he can’t seem to make room for himself into the Madrid first XI.
Arsenal’s Wenger was interested in the midfielder in several occasions, but unfortunately no deal was completed because Dortmund were unwilling to sell for the fees Arsenal offered (much like the Geotze case).
Sahin is surely ready to move by now having spent a whole season on the touchlines, but it’s still unclear whether Mourinho (or the one who will replace him) still has plans with the young Turkish star.
Arsene Wenger could surely do with a defensive midfielder of Sahin’s ability given the huge need of reinforcements in the midfield department at Arsenal. With Sahin and some attacking midfielder like Goetze or Hazard Arsenal’s face could be changed altogether don’t you think?
