Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger has eyed yet another top striker according to the rumours, and he’s going to fight off Chelsea and Liverpool for his signature. According to today’s TalkSport, Sevilla’s striker Alvaro Negredo has managed to attract a lot of interest with his splendid Primera Division performances.
The 26-year-old striker has managed to score 48 goals in 120 games for Sevilla, and he’s also punched in 5 goals in 7 international games playing for the senior Spanish national team.
Chelsea are the most likely side to sign the striker according to the rumours, but a fight is most likely to occur for the Spaniard’s signature. Wenger supposedly already agreed with Podolski on a 5 season-long deal, but the Frenchman still wants to bring more talent to the squad and it seems that he’s also aiming for a first striker who can substitute Van Persie or even play along-side him.
Wenger has a few names in mind, but Negredo is certainly good enough to take into contention and add to the wishlist. Do you think that Van Persie could make a good attacking pair with the Spanish striker, or should somebody better be brought to the club?
