Arsenal target Marvin Martin has been given a deadline by another suitor as Lille have given the Sochaux midfielder until Wednesday to decide his future. The French midfielder has been the subject of intense transfer speculation, with everybody from Arsenal to Lyon interested in his services.
Lille are on the lookout for an attacking midfielder to replace the departing Eden Hazard and the 24 year old Martin could fit the bill. And with other clubs hovering around, Lille want a definitive answer from the player who is set to feature for France at the Euros.
But it remains to be seen if he wants to stay in Ligue 1 or make the step up to the Premier League. Arsene Wenger has a long and successful history with talented individuals from France and Martin will benefit from moving to the Emirates, where he is guaranteed to be playing in the Champions League every season.
The diminutive attacker has the speed and ability to succeed at the highest level and a successful showing at the Euros will only enhance his reputation. An exit from Sochaux is guaranteed, but the destination isn’t and if the Gunners do come in with a bid, it is hard to see the 24 year old reject it.
