Spanish side Atletico Madrid’s president Enrique Cerezo has completely snubbed the possibility for Adrian to leave Spain’s capital at the moment, saying that rumours regarding a possible switch to Arsenal or Tottenham are pure fiction.
Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger is believed to be an admirer of the 24-year-old speedy striker and, ever since Robin Van Persie’s departure became a possibility, Arsenal have been liked with a possible move for Adrian.
“Adrian is an Atletico player for the next four years and nobody has called to ask about him,” Cerezo said.
“Nobody has called him or the club.”
“You would have to ask those that are talking about him because it appears that they know a lot more.”
Arsenal will be in great need of a top striker if Robin Van Persie leaves the club, despite the fact that Arsene Wenger signed Giroud and Podolski this summer. The Frenchman needs to get a back-up for the central position if Giroud gets injured or fails to adapt, so the situation may become critical at the club if the captain leaves (for the second summer in a row). What do you think will happen?
