Arsenal’s International Weekend Round-Up

Finland 0-1 France- Abou Diaby featured for France and scored the only goal of the game in France’s 1-0 win over Finland. Laurent Koscielny and Olivier Giroud were both unused substitutes after just returning from injury. The trio could face Belarus in their 2nd World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.

Moldova 0-5 England- England stormed to victory beating Moldova 5-0, with both Alex Oxlade – Chamberlain and Theo Walcott playing a part in the game. Both Chamberlain and Walcott got 1 assist each from that game. The pair are both likely to play a part in England’s 2nd 2014 World Cup qualifier against Ukraine on Tuesday.

Germany 3-0 Faroe Islands- Both Per Mertesacker and Lukas Podolski played a part in Germany’s opening World Cup Qualifying campaign. Mertesacker completed the full 90 minutes, whilst Podolski won his 102nd Germany cap, coming on as a 75th minute substitute. The pair could return for Tuesday’s game against Austria.

Spain 5-0 Saudi Arabia- Santi Cazorla provided yet another stunning performance, as he found the back of the net in Spain’s 5-0 victory over Saudi Arabia. The Arsenal midfielder may be back in action against Georgia on Tuesday.

Wales 0-2 Belgium- Thomas Vermaelen overcame his injury to help Belgium win 2-0 in their opening World Cup Qualifying game. He played the full 90 minutes and is likely to play a part when Belgium face Croatia on Tuesday. Aaron Ramsey captained the Welsh team and is likely to do so again against Serbia on Tuesday.

Slovenia 0-2 Switzerland- Johan Djourou help Switzerland keep a clean sheet as they ran out as winners in their 1st 2014 World Cup Qualifying campaign. The defender played the full 90 minutes and will most likely play against Albania on Tuesday.

Montenegro 2-2 Poland- Lukas Fabianski was an unused substitute in Poland’s 2-2 draw with Montenegro. Fabianski currently has a slight injury and its unknown if he will play in Poland’s game vs. Moldova on Tuesday.
