Wenger seems determined to clear Arsenal’s deck, to this end, he is set to show defensive midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong the door as early as the winter window. The Ghanaian midfielder’s contract expires in the summer and now, it seems he won’t be getting an extension at the Emirates.
According to the Sunday people, he has been told to look for another club in the coming month.
It isn’t a surprise that Frimpong has been asked to leave because he has failed to live up to the hype that preceded his promotion to the first team no thanks to injuries that has not only ruined his chances of making good use of the opportunities that came his way in the first team and also his loan spells. Another thing that put paid to his Arsenal career in my opinion is the amount of time he spells promoting his brand and musical career. Seems his priorities have been displaced, in my opinion at least.
This season despite been back at the club, he has failed to make a single appearance for the club, not even in the less prestigious Capital One Cup which means Wenger doesn’t rate him and it’s time to let go but it’s disappointing that a player that really loves Arsenal doesn’t have the talent to play there. He was Wilshere’s contemporary but while the Englishman has gone on to greater things, he is still grappling with the elementary aspects.
