With the winter transfer window well spent, Arsenal are still yet to make a signing but if transfer reports are anything to go by, it seems Wenger is really keeping his options open though none are yet to materialize.
The latest to be linked with the Gunners is Fiorentina winger Juan Guillermo Cuadrado. According to TuttoMercatoWeb.com, Arsenal are interested in signing the Serie A star.
However, it won’t be a straightforward move as the winger is owned by two clubs; Fiorentina and Udinese but anything is possible when Wenger is keen. Considering the fact that Cuadrado can play anywhere along the left flank what does a move for him portend for Arsenal?
He is a left winger which means he won’t be a like for like replacement for Walcott because the Englishman played predominantly as a right winger before his injury but his arrival could see Podolski making a switch to the central striking role. Wenger has recently paid glowing tribute to the German’s finishing abilities and should efforts to bring in a striker keep hitting brick walls, Wenger might turn to the German to act as a perfect back-up to Giroud while another player takes his place on the left wing. Would that player be the Fiorentina winger? Time will tell.
Cuadrado boasts of decent stats this season in the Serie A as he has made twenty-two appearances (nineteen as a starter) in all competitions , scoring five goals and assisting six goals.
