Arsenal are looking to end the season on a high with the FA Cup Final against Hull City an opportunity to end a nine year trophy drought. With fourth place secured and a Champions League play off still to come, the Gunners are expected to make some marquee signings this summer to strengthen the team.
However, dashing into the transfer market and sealing the signings of some players could help the club in so many ways, including not paying above market value. All it takes for a player like Draxler or Griezmann to spark off a transfer tussle between the big clubs is impressive performance at the World Cup in Brazil.
Though, the 20 year old German international who plays for Schalke 04 has reiterated his desire to stay with his current club but he has also stated he will move if Bayern Leverkusen agrees a deal with another club, a bid in the region of the player’s release clause should be enough to seal the deal. Draxler’s rating and market value could soar if he features prominently for the German team in Brazil, and that is one thing Arsene may want to avoid. This in my opinion is one that is likely to be straight forward provided Arsenal is ready to play the player’s release clause. Although Bayern are reported to be interested, the fact that Arsenal has been on the player’s trail for quite some time and the fact that Draxler will have the chance of a better first team football with us make us clear favourites.
23 year old Griezmann has been linked with Arsenal with Goal.com reporting that an approach has already been made last month. His performances this season has been hugely impressive, and a quick deal before the World Cup could keep him off the sights of clubs like Liverpool, PSG, and Manchester United. Just like Draxler, we simply need to activate his release clause and he will be ours. The fact that he is a French player and Wenger can use his French influence make us even more well positioned to sign him ahead of the other interested clubs.
With news making the rounds that Juventus and Inter Milan are both tracking the young Spanish striker, Arsenal would have to be quick in putting in a bid before the World Cup. Though, the 21 year old Real Madrid striker won’t be going to the World Cup with Spain, his attention will nevertheless, be drawn to having his future settled before the start of next season. We were close to signing him in January and should Wenger still be interested and willing to pay the 16 million pounds Real Madrid reportedly want for him, signing him before the start of the world cup should be possible and probably easy.
Arsenal are reported to have opened preliminary talks with representatives of the 21 year old Toulouse right back, and a deal could happen before the World Cup kicks off in 28 days’ time. He is seen as a potential replacement for Bacary Sagna whose contract expires in the summer. Available for less than 10 million Euros, signing Aurier shouldn’t be difficult if Wenger doesn’t try to play smart as usual and pay the right fee.
For a player who has not been capped yet by his country to be named on the standby list for the World Cup, Schneiderlin is one not to toy with. Arsenal need a defensive midfielder, and this tough-tackling Southampton midfielder could fill in the void, but there is no time to waste as his value could soar pretty soon. Also interesting Manchester United but Wenger’s French connection could do the trick for us.
