Why Arsenal Could Sign 50million Pounds Rated Radameal Falcao

The saying that the patient dog eats the fattest bone could become a reality for Arsenal this summer with regards to the transfer window. Arsenal are in the market for a top striker and have been linked with plethora of marquee marksman but in reality there is one striker they can get and he is Columbian striker Radameal Falcao.

The striking hotshot could be available this summer and there are just a few teams that can really afford him. Fortunately, Arsenal are one of the privileged few. Firstly, why would he be available? In the course of last season, reports leaked out that he had grown disillusioned with life at the principality club because of the status of the club. If he feels he deserves to be playing for one of the European heavyweights and not a sleeping giant that is just getting re-awakened.

Mourinho alluded to this when he was complaining about his lack of strikers and hinting at a move for Falcao. He said while Chelsea lacked world class strikers, Falcao lacked a world class team. From all indication, the reality has dawned on Falcao but Chelsea aren’t favourites to sign him anymore.

They are not as financially profligate as they used to be owing to the fear of UEFA Financial Fair Play hammer. Now, they have to sell before they can buy. This new reality saw them sell Mata and Luiz. Besides, the top striking target for Mourinho is Diego Costa. I doubt if he could land two marquee strikers in the same summer. Guess that rules out Chelsea.

PSG is another club that could have been interested in him but they have already been hit by the FFP hammer and won’t want to be hit again so soon. They just bought Luiz for 50million Pounds and doubt if they can splash out another 40million without running foul of the FFP.

Real Madrid are another club. Los Blancos have for long been on his trail but might have just shifted their focus somewhere else. Reports have it that they set their sights on Liverpool’s striker Luis Suarez and are even willing to splash out 100million Pounds to sign him.

That leaves only Arsenal. The Gunners need a top striker and have the money to get a good one. Arsenal can afford to offer 50million Pounds and that is an offer Monaco owner might not be able to refuse after running into some financial squabbles. He is in a messy divorce suit that requires he pays his wife a settlement in excess of 2 billion Pounds. That means players must be sold. Monaco don’t have too many assets that could fetch good money. Falcao is one of the few. He could see an offer of 50 million Pounds too good to refuse.

What could be a problem is bogus wages but I do not think that will post too much of a problem as I am sure Falcao himself knows he will have to take a pay cut should he move away from Monaco. In this era of financial fair play, no club will pay him as much as he is currently getting at Monaco.

The reality is that Arsenal are a big bid away from landing the Columbian striker.
