Mario Balotelli Keen On Arsenal Move – Reports

The Italian and AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli has been linked to Arsenal through out the summer. But Arsene Wenger refused those speculations when he said there were no truth to the rumours and that there were just fabrications from the press. And Adriano Galliani, Milan’s Chief executive, further gave credence to that by saying that the club does not intend to sell the Italian.

Despite these comments, a little over 72 hours after Arsene Wenger denied those reports, yet another report has emerge, linking the Italian to the Emirates.

The Mirror reports that The Italian was keen on a move to Arsenal, while his agent Raiola has said several clubs have shown strong interest in signing the Italian.

Speaking to the press, after Italy’s disappointing World Cup performance for which the enigmatic Italian has been singled out for strong criticism. Balotelli’s agent said about interest from other teams:

“I remember that Mario had other important offers. He is at Milan because of his heart. . .”

The criticism of Balotelli over his performance at the World Cup has provided a toxic atmosphere for the Italian back home in Italy. And the failure of the Milan hierarchy to lend support to the striker has provided another sub plot to the speculation surrounding the Italian.

What has riled Balotelli and his agent, are the comments made by Barbara Berlusconi that Mario Balotelli was replaceable.

With support for him now waning in Italy particularly against the backdrop of his uninspiring performance in the World Cup in Brazil. It remains to be seen how he would cope with the wave of criticism he has received from the Italian press.

Yet, what has always stood in the way of the Italian, has been his attitude. Whether Arsenal and Arsene Wenger will choose to overlook the Italian’s foibles remains to seen.

Although, Wenger has denied being interested in the Italian, it will stand within his past antecedents when he denied not knowing a player just weeks before such a player was signed. As in the case of Santi Cazorla.

The fact that news linking the Italian to the Emirates has not gone away despite all the denials from different quarters means there could be something to the speculations.

It remains to be seen what comes out of these new speculations linking Balotelli to the Emirates, especially with the unpredictable nature off the transfer market, there is every likelihood that something will have to give in terms of the club’s search for a striker. Even as pre-season draws closer by each passing day.
