Arsenal is certainly going to be active in this summer’s transfer window. They have already confirmed a marquee signing after unveiling former Barca attacker Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean attacker ticks many boxes but it is the attack of the gunners and that means there are still other departments of the team that needs beefing up.
Arsenal needs a new experienced right back, after seeing former incumbent right back Bacary Sagna take a bossman walk to Manchester City. The Gunners have been linked with move for Newcastle French right back Mathieu Debuchy. In fact according to reports, a fee has been agreed with the Magpies, while the former Lille man had already agreed had his medicals and agreed personal terms, he should be unveiled anytime soon.
In a related development, Arsenal is also closing in on a new goalkeeper after setting sights on Columbian goalkeeper David Ospina. The South American shot stopper has just a year left on his Nice contract and would be more than eager to move over to a bigger club after his World Cup heroics. Nice would be keen to cash in on him now rather than see him leave for free next summer. Arsenal is in the market for a new goalkeeper after Fabianski also towed Sagna’s path by signing for Swansea also for free. The Gunners have been linked with a quite number of goalkeepers but the fact that the Gunners could land an experienced goalkeeper like Ospina on the cheap (3million pounds) could have swayed the Gunners the way of the Colombian.
Another player touted to be close to signing for the Gunners is Real Madrid’s midfielder Sami Khedira. According to reports, the Gunners have reached an agreement over the fee with the Spanish giants. In the absence of any personal terms conundrum, Khedira should be a Gunner sooner rather than later.
Arsenal fans would be hoping for more unveilings after they unveil Sanchez. It is a general notion that no deal is confirmed until the confirmation appears on the club’s official website. The Gunners might be having some unveilings this week and it is likely going to be that of Debuchy and Ospina.
