Arsenal Could Regret Letting Loic Remy Join Liverpool

Liverpool has been busy in the transfer market. After signing Ricky Lambert, Adam Lallana, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic they looked to have signed Loic Remy as they begin life after Luis Suarez. The Daily Star reported that the striker was on the brink of being announced as a Liverpool player after completing his medical in Boston.

The Frenchmen was heavily linked with Arsenal as he was spotted at the Emirates Stadium on Arsenal’s last game of the season. Arsenal have been in the market for a striker as they are looking to give Olivier Giroud a competition for his place, but looks like they have missed out Remy to their premier league rivals.

It is quite obvious Arsenal need a striker but Arsene Wenger looks to have passed on another one. With a good striker as rare as a sunflower in a desert, I hope the Arsenal manager doesn’t live to regret this move. Its likely Wenger will use recent acquisition, Alexis Sanchez as a centre forward. And it is believed due to Remy’s high wage demands, the deal fell through.

Arsenal does have Olivier Giroud, but as we saw last season, he can’t do it alone. When it comes to big games, he goes into hiding. His shots to goal ratio aren’t impressive either. So there is a problem in that department that needs fixing, but it seems Arsene is putting all his eggs in one basket.

Reports have emerged about the erratic Mario Balotelli being linked with Arsenal.  And that news won’t go down well with the Arsenal fans as many don’t want such a trouble maker at the club. Liverpool Echo reported that Arsenal is in for Lukaku too. And if Arsene can pull that off, only will it justify not signing Remy.

With all Arsenal rivals strengthen their respective teams, Arsene Wenger must take this opportunity and get the player he needs. Ivan Gazidis has said money is available to spend and there is no option but to spend it on quality striker. If Arsene does want to sign one, he’ll have to move real quickly.
