The labyrinth nature of the speculation surrounding Sami Khedira has reached yet another height as new report this time from Germany has hinted of the midfielder’s preference for Arsenal.
The report has swung in different directions over the past few weeks. The German seem to be leaning towards a move to the Emirates possibly with the constant in the ear talk of Arsenal by Lukas Podolski. The Arsenal forward has not hidden is role in trying to persuade his colleague to join him at Arsenal,
“I didn’t have to try to convince Khedira to join Arsenal,
“Sami knows how much fun he could have with me , Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker at Arsenal.”
Although, no new reports have emerge from the Spanish end which was the last source of a concrete bit of news about this transfer, the signings made by Real Madrid could in turn result in a situation where they have to place certain players on transfer like they did last summer when Mesut Ozil swapped Madrid for North London after he was placed on transfer following the signing of Gareth Bale.
Arsenal’s pursuit of a defensive midfielder is taking on different turns with several players having been linked to the club in that position, with the likes of Lars Bender of Bayer Leverkusen, Morgan Schneiderlin of Southampton and William Carvalho of Sporting Lisbon amongst the several players that have been linked to the club.
However, the Sami Khedira link has assume further media inches because of his involvement with other Arsenal players of German extraction at the World Cup.
Whatever comes out of this new report that he now suddenly has a preference for North London means he would have to drop his wage demands that report have claimed is the stumbling block to a deal being struck, wage demands that would have made him the highest earner at Arsenal if those reports are to be believed.
The question that however remains is whether Arsene Wenger will still be willing to go in for the midfielder with the emergence of this report. It would not be out of place for the French man to have change his mind entirely from pursuing the World Cup winner.
The fact that this new report is coming out of Germany means there is more to the Sami Khedira speculation than has been previously reported. What is known is that the direction of every Arsenal transfer lingers on for a while before it becomes clearer.
