In a news that will delight many Arsenal fans, French star Mathieu Debuchy may be on his way out of the club this summer with reports claiming West Ham have made a big money offer for the former Newcastle United right back
Arsenal had paid £12 million to sign Debuchy from Newcastle United but after having an injury which ruled him out of action for three months, the Frenchman found himself having to be a second fiddle behind young Spaniard, Hector Bellerin.
After not been able to regain his first team shirt at Arsenal, Debuchy became disgruntled and seeked move away from the Emirates which he got. Last January, he was allowed to move on loan to Bordeaux in France and after a successful loan spell, it seems he will permanently leave Arsenal. Aside West Ham, Lyon are also said to be interested in signing the 30-year-old defender.
It has already been reported that Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger is ready to sell the Frenchman should the right offer be made. And should he be sold, it will remain to be seen who will be brought in to replacement him.
One thing is certain though, Wenger doesn’t rate Calum Chambers as a right back and with Jenkinson still nursing an injury and unlikely to partake in pre-season training, Arsenal will have to bring in someone to replace 80,000 a week Mathieu Debuchy as the Gunners can’t go into a season with only Bellerin as the right back at the club. That will be suicide.
