When Italian media outlets such as La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting a stories, there is usually some legs to the stories. This is why Arsenal fans can hope Alvaro Morata will become a Gunner before the summer transfer window closes.
According to various reports in Spain had claimed Real Madrid will activate the buy back clause inserted in Morata’s contract when he was being sold to Real Madrid and then resell him to Arsenal and now Italian media are claiming the Gunners have tabled an offer of €67 million or £51 million in pounds to Real Madrid for the player.
Although Juventus are also said to be interested in paying Real Madrid more money in order to totally remove the release clause, it is believed that Arsenal’s superior offer will mean the player will be an Arsenal player by the time the next season starts.
Some reports claim he will be given a wage package of £130,000 a week while some others claim it will be £155,000 a week. Chelsea, PSG, Manchester City and Manchester United have all been linked with the signing of Morata and it remains to be seen if Arsenal are able to finally win a bidding war.
