Unlike in previous transfer summers where Arsenal waited until the tail end of the season to make a signing, the situation has been reversed as Arsenal have already signed a high profile player before the end of May.
As if that isn’t enough, Wenger have identified and also moved quickly to snap up another quality player to rebuild his inconsistent squad according to The Telegraph. Arsenal are eying highly rated Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly who had an impressive season with Napoli. At 24, Koulibaly ticks all the boxes that Wenger demands of his defenders.
The only problem to the deal though is that he is valued in excess of £20 million which might be more than Wenger can pay. Also to make matters worse for the North London club is the fact that Chelsea are also known admirers of the Senegalese which might push up his price and also make his signing difficult for Wenger considering it might become a competition of sorts.
