If a report by highly reliable Telegraph Journalist Jeremy Wilson, who from all indication get leaked information directly from the club, is anything to go by, Arsenal are set to given Jack Wilshere a new contract that will see him remain at the club till he is 29-year-old.
The England midfielder who missed the bulk of the season is a key target for Manchester City across to reports but Arsenal are not in the mood to lose him and have decided to tie him to a new five years contract which if he signs will see him earn £110,000 a week pretax.
Wilshere is highly regarded at the club which explains why despite struggling with one injury to the other in the last three years the club is ready to give him a new contract and a good pay rise.
Hopefully the believe in the player is not misplaced but next season is certainly going to be a key season for Wilshere. He simply can’t afford to have another injury season if he wants to remain “on side” with the Arsenal fans.
Another injury filled season will mean Arsenal fans will start to turn on him and that is the last thing Wilshere and or any other Arsenal player will like to see happen.
