It is that time of the football season when news (both authentic and hear-say) about different players moving or refusing to leave are everywhere. It is the transfer window!
And like most football fans, Arsenal fans are not left out of this drama. There’s always a long list of players claimed to be targets of Arsene Wenger or linked in one way or the other to the Emirates.
Of all these news sources, bookies (betting websites) seem to be the ones with the “closest to credible” news as regards transfer news. Prices shown on websites of bookmakers are indications of whether a club has any chance of signing a certain player.
Of course it may just be an indication of who people are betting on to arrive (or leave), but the fact is that there are always certain people who get a bit of “inside information” and tend to determine how high (or how low) prices are on these websites. And these prices determine, most times, the chances of a player coming or leaving.
So who are the bookies backing to join Arsenal?
According to Betvictor, Arsenal are 3/1 favourites to sign Jamie Vardy, while Liverpool and Man City are next at 6/1. The Gunners have also been tipped amongst favourites to sign Riyahd Mahrez with prices at 1/2 for the Algerian to remain at Leicester and 11/4 to move to Arsenal. PSG is also in it at 17/1. Seems like a two-horse race.
As for Lukaku, Arsenal are 18/1 (6th favourite) to sign the Belgian.Arsenal’s Second Signing?
