Arsenal are ready to bid the €25 million release clause for Switzerland left back Ricardo Rodriguez who is an international team mate of Granit Xhaka according to Kicker which is a German newspaper.
The rumours linking Rodriguez and Arsenal seems to grow by the day as the summer looms large. After an impressive season in the Bundesliga, it is not surprising that Arsenal are in line to sign the 23-year-old defender whose release clause of €25 million is seen by many as a bargain considering his young age.
Rodriguez’s price might appreciate after the Euro’s in France this summer which explains Arsenal’s desperation to sign him. Rodriguez is said to have three years to run on his current contract which might force Arsenal to pay his full release clause.
However, Arsene Wenger is likely to move on Kieran Gibbs in order to make space for the Swiss international next season. With Gibbs linked with a move to West Ham, West Brom, Southampton and others, it appears the deal to bring in Ricardo Rodriguez will certainly be happening.
Ricardo Rodriguez has 20 goals and 40 assists in 115 games for Wolfsburg which shows his attacking prowess. Something we could with at Arsenal at the moment.
