With the reports today that Calum Chambers could be on his way out of Arsenal on loan to an EPL club, it appears Arsenal are confident of signing a centre back and if you believe a report by football insider, it appears that Centre back who will be joining us this summer is Greece international centre back Kostas Manolas who plays for AS Roma in the Italian league.
The Greek was thought to be on his way to Chelsea with incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte said to be a big fan of the player, but football insider sources claim the Blues have chosen to pull out of the race for the player’s signature and will instead put all their efforts in trying to sign Manolas’ team mate Radja Naigollan.
This according to football insider has given Arsenal a clear road in their bid to sign Manolas as a partner for Koscienly with Wenger reportedly not ready to be patient with Gabriel Paulista and Mertesacker looking like he won’t ever be first choice for Arsenal any more. Signing Manolas for our defense will make alot of sense. He was one of the best defenders in the serie A last season and considering how defensive the Serie A is, that is quite an achievement.
He is reportedly available for €35 million which is about £26.59 million. Which is quite cheap considering the amount other centre backs of his quality are going for. John Stones for instance is going for £45 million for instance.
