Reports by The Telegraph have it that that Arsenal made Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly their top defensive transfer target for the summer and want to sign the centre-back for around €25.6m
Koulibaly is reported to be open to a move away fron Italy this summer and, according to the Telegraph, Arsenal believe they can lure the defender away from Naples this summer for around €26m.
The 24-year-old defender who joined the Serie A club back in 2014 had his performances improve dramatically last season as Napoli finished runners-up to Juventus in the Serie A.
Arsenal are not the only English clubside linked to the highly-rated Senegalese international. Premier League side, Chelsea, have also been linked with the player but Arsene Wenger desperately needs a partner for Laurent Koscielny as the two Arsenal centre-backs Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista have struggled to hold down first-team spots.
Wenger admitted after last season’s campaign that the Gunners need to toughen up in defence section. Arsene Wenger already signed Granit Xhaka for around £30million has been told there is no limit on his budget this summer.
This can only mean one thing: More players will arrive at the Emirates this summer!
