Arsenal fans who have been waiting for Arsenal and Leicester City to confirm the Jamie Vardy to Arsenal deal is done don’t have to wait much longer. This is because Leicester City are now reportedly in talks with Watfor for the Hornets’ striker Troy Deeney as a replacement for the Arsenal bound Jamie Vardy.
It is quite normal for clubs to want to bring in a replacement for a departing player before announcing a deal is agreed. This is so as to avoid the price been hiked. And by Leicester City not announcing the vardy deal, the probably try to make Watford believe the 24 goals striker is not leaving in order to see if they can get Troy Deeney on the cheap.
Come to think of it, why will Vardy accept Arsenal’s offer of a four years contract on £120,000 a week if he is going to change his mind? What chance do Leicester City have of matching Arsenal’s £120,000 a week wage offer? Vardy probably knows if he leaves Leicester at the moment, he will still be an hero as the foxes are probably not going to win the league again for a very long time to come.
I mean, it is not as if Vardy is leaving Leicester for a club like Everton or the noise makers down the lane, he is moving to Arsenal. A big leap for a club that was playing for Luton Town not too long ago.
