On Friday news emerged that Arsenal have triggered the release clause of Jamie Vardy. This much was confirmed by BBC, Skyp and every media outlets. Many thought the deal would have been announced by now and there were reports of a medical done over the weekend. But if reports by the BBC is anything to go by, the reports that a medical was done for Vardy over the weekend is not close to the truth.
The player is yet to even accept or reject Leicester City’s reported counter over and the deal could still well fall through according to the BBC. The England international was supposed to make an official announcement on whether the will stay at Leicester to move to Arsenal this summer before embarking on the plane with England for the European Championship but that decision has now been postponed.
The no medical stance was also echoed by the London Evening Standard. However, both BBC and the Evening Standard and many other media houses confirmed Vardy wants the move to Arsenal but has just delayed the announcement for whatever reason.
The striker scored 24 goals last season as he helped the the foxes win the Premier League ahead of Arsenal.
