Over the course of the last four days, Arsenal have been heavily linked with the signing of Jamie Vardy from Leicester City. Arsenal were said to have triggered Vardy’s release clause on Friday and have made the player a contract offer of four years.
According to a report by the Guardian, Arsenal have on the table a £100,000 a week contract offer for Jamie Vardy. The player is said to have verbally agreed terms with the Gunners but has now been thrown into a state of confusion after Leicester City offered the player a five years deal on £85,000 a week.
Vardy is now said to be torn between either staying at Leicester City or taking up the one in a lifetime opportunity of playing for Arsenal. Reports claim Vardy has been told by his representatives that he won’t get any other opportunity better than this considering he is already 29-year-old.
The player is expected to make known his decision before the end of the European Championship but no one can say for sure if he will join Arsenal or remain at Leicester City.
