If you believe the reports from Germany today, Arsenal are succeeding in their bid to sign Dortmund’ Mkhitaryan. According to earlier reports, Dortmund are reluctant to let the player go and will prefer to keep him at the club even if he doesn’t sign a new contract. But newer reports from very reliable German outlet’s such as Bild and Kicker claim the club are now frustrated with the antics of both Mkhitaryan and his agent Mino Raiola.
Dortmund are now said to be ready to listen to offers for the player and are demanding as much as €30 million euros which when you consider the quality of the Armenian is quite cheap. Last season, in 43 games, he scored 19 times and created 24 assists. He was voted the best player in the Bundesliga last season. That’s he was the best despite the presence of Thomas Muller, Robert Lewandowski, Manuel Neurer and many other big name stars.
Although the player has been linked with a move to Chelsea, the player himself had in the past confirmed he will like to play for Arsenal and recent reports claim he has set his mind to move to Arsenal either on a free transfer or this summer. Should Arsenal manage to pull off his signing, he will not only be a reliable cover for Mesut Ozil, he will also be a big upgrade on Theo Walcott on the right wing.
