As Jamie Vardy leaves Arsenal hoping on over whether he’s signing on or not, it seems the North Londoners have a back-up plan in Edinson Cavani.
The Daily Express is claiming that, the Uruguayan, who is currently plying his trade with French champions Paris Saint German is the Gunners plan B.
The Uruguayan, who has constantly been linked with the Gunners, is no doubt a top class footballer and a prolific goal scorer. He scored 19 goals in Ligue One for PSG last season, and often play on the flank rather than in his favoured Number 9 role to give space to fan favourite and Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Report has it that Cavani is hoping to depart the French Club this summer and has attracted interest from mega rich Chinese Super League. Rumours have it that he has turned down a £500,000 a-week contract from a Chinese club and prefers a move to the English Premier League.
Arsenal fans seem to be tired of the inconsistent Olivier Giroud, and Cavani might just be an upgrade of Giroud. Giroud is undoubtedly in good form for his country France of late, but he has remain unpopular at Arsenal.
Cavani is only slightly better than Giroud who has proven over his time at North London that he is not a top-class striker.
Edinson Cavani might lack premier league experience, but am of the opinion that he would be a better signing than Jamie Vardy.
