2nd Signing? Arsenal On VERGE Of Signing €70,000-A-Week POWERFUL CB

If a report by Mundo Deportivo is anything to go by, Arsenal are set to bring in a reliable defender that will partner Laurent Koscienly in the heart of Arsenal’s defense. According to Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal are monitoring the the situation of Lyon defender Samuel Umtiti with a view of making a move for him this summer.

With Per Mertesacker not getting younger and Gabriel Paulista not looking like a reliable partner for Koscienly, Arsenal could certainly do with the signing of yet another centre back. Someone as good as Koscienly or even better.

We have already been linked with the signing of Mehdi Benatia who is now surplus to requirement at Bayern Munich but if you believe Mundo Deportivo, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger prefers to sign the much younger Samuel Umtiti.

Samuel Umtiti, 22, was one of Lyon’s best player last season but the French club may be forced to sell him due to some financial difficulties which Arsenal is said to be willing to take advantage of. The player has been linked with Barca as well which means Arsenal will have a reliable competition for his signature.

The influence of Wenger in the French league could however help us to sign French defender.
