In a news that can be interprete as Leicester City already looking for a replacement for Jamie Vardy, reports from the Portuguese league claim Leicester have had a bid f €27 million rejected for highly rated Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani.
Islam Slimani who has also been linked with a mvoe to Arsenal scored 31 goals in 44 games last season which explains why many clubs are interested in signing him. With Leicester City bidding for the player, it is safe to assume they are doing so because they already know they will be losing the services of Jamie Vardy who could be on his way to Arsenal after the Gunners triggered his release clause.
With Ulloa and Shinji Okazaki still at Leicester, they simply have no need for another striker unless they have given up on keeping Jamie Vardy. Last week, they also had a bid rejected for Watford’s Troy Deeny which shows the Foxes are very keen on bringing in yet another striker. One could argue that they need another striker because they will be playing in the Champions League next season but does it mean they are paying €27 million for someone who will merely be a second choice striker behind Jamie Vardy and Okazaki?
This is certainly good news for Arsenal fans who have earnestly waited for any hint that Jamie Vardy will be moving to Arsenal.
