SURELY The End Of Walcott, As Wenger Closes In On Riyad Mahrez

After having signed Granit Xhaka from the Bundesliga, Arsenal seem not to be ready to relent in their effort to bring in world class players to the Emirates this summer. According to a report by the SUN, Arsenal are very interested in signing Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City and will be launching a mega bid for the Algerian in the next couple of days.

Arsenal have also gotten Vardy, according to the SUN as well, but are also looking to bring in Mahrez for £25 million which is the same as the African’s release clause. Some other reports claim Arsenal and Leicester City are working on a wap deal that will involve Theo Walcott moving the other way.

However, should Wenger outright buy Mahrez, it will certainly be the end of Theo Walcott as Mahrez is certainly not going to move to Arsenal to warm the bench. And Walcott himslef hasn’t done his course any good with his poor performance next season.

With Walcott on a reported £140,000 a week wage package and Mahrez likely to be demand just about 80,000 a week, signing the Algerian will make a lot of sense. And if we at the same time get rid of Walcott while bringing in Mahrez, it will even be better.
