Arsenal Set To Sign 31 Goals In 46 Games Striker After Vardy Rejection

Last summer, Arsenal reportedly made a bid for Karim Benzema but had to wait for the player to make a decision on whether he wants to leave Real Madrid or move to Arsenal. But by the time the Frenchman announced he wants to remain at Real Madrid, it was way too late for Arsenal to move for another striker and so we ended the window with only Petr Cech. And we blew the chance to win the Premier League for this season.

This summer, Wenger appears to have learnt his lesson. Rather than wait for Jamie Vardy to make up his mind, reports claim Wenger is already making alternative plans should in case the Englishman decides he does not want to leave Leicester City. To this end, Arsenal are said to be monitoring the progress of Sporting Lisbon’s Islam Islimani who scored 31 goals in 46 games last season.

Arsenal were earlier last month linked with the signing of Islimani but the reports went cold immediately it emerged that Arsenal have triggered the release clause of Jamie Vardy. Wenger is now back in for the player who is reportedly available for just £23 million. Arsenal were said to have scouted the Algerian a couple of times last season and should the bid for Jamie Vardy fail, the club will try to sign him.

The player is very similar to Jamie Vardy, fast, strong and very agile. He has also been linked with a move to Leicester City but surely if Arsenal are truly interested in him, he will most certainly choose the Gunners ahead of the Foxes.
