According to reports, Watford have tabled a massive offer for West Brom striker Saido Berahino. The Hornets have tabled a club record bid for West Brom striker Berahino, The Watford Observer says.
The striker has just one year left on his contract and the club is looking to cash in heavily on the striker, with Chairman Jeremy Peace having rejected all previous offers submitted for Berahino.
West Brom knows that they have to sell the striker this summer or settle for compensation once Berahino’s contract expires next summer.
It is understood the bid from Watford is yet to be accepted or rejected by the Baggies, and should Berahino is sold to Watford, Watford could be tempted to sell Deeney to Leicester city as a replacement for the departing Jamie Vardy, who could be heading to Arsenal.
British tabloids reported last week that Watford made enquiry, after Berahino made it clear he has no intention of signing a new deal at Westbrom.
Watford are not the only team interested in signing him, as Crystal Palace and Leicester are also interested.
