With the Gunners in the front row to sign Mkhitaryan from Dortmund this summer, who plays in almost the same position as Theo, Arsene Wenger would not think twice to the sell the long-serving England winger to Liverpool for a whooping £25million.
Liverpool will reportedly offer Walcott £120,000 a week which is close to the £140,000 a week he is reportedly earning at Arsenal. I will be surprised if Arsenal do not sell him for £25 million. Based on his performance in the last three seasons, he is not worth more than £25 million even not worth £25 million.
This is the right season to get Theo Walcott, knowing that his place in the starting eleven is not secured in the Arsenal team. Walcott has been on Liverpool FC’s scout list for a very long time.
The 27-year-old was left out of Roy Hodgson’s squad for the on-going Euro 2016 championship, which will leave him with the hunger for more regular first team football in order to get back into the three-lion squad and Liverpool might be his possible destination under Jurgen Klopp.
With the current spotlight from Liverpool on Walcott, Arsene Wenger might want to take a chance for Liverpool to make a bid for the winger and attract the attention of ‘smaller’ clubs like Leicester. This would open doors for Arsene Wenger to use Walcott as bait to get Mahrez from the Premier Champions.
Walcott has a blistering profile with the Gunners which might interest Leicester, he has scored 55 goals for Arsenal in 236 games and he has played most of his games on the wings – this make him a good replacement for Mahrez.
Walcott’s main attribute is no doubt pace, and being rated based on his current form and performance, he will be valued at £20 – £25 million – which might be equivalent to Mahrez’s value.
