WOLFSBURG winger Julian Draxler is reported to be on Manchester United’s radar. Jose Mourinho is said to be keen on signing the German international which clears the way for Arsenal to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Draxler was signed from Schalke last summer for a fee believed to be £25.5million. He reportedly turned down a move to the Premier League and Seria A with Arsenal and Juventus interested.
The German star signed a five-year deal at the Volkswagen Arena and reports from German publication Bild has claim Draxler is not fully committed to seeing out his contract with the club.
This uncertainty surrounding Draxler’s future at Wolfsburg has reportedly caught the attention of United boss, Jose Mourinho to look towards bring the player to Old Trafford.
Mourinho is also in the chase to get Borussia Dortmund winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan, which suggests that the manager wants to strengthen his wide options this summer before the start of the Premier League.
Moreover, Arsenal now has a chance to steal Borussia Dortmund winger Henrikh Mkhitaryan from the Manchester United side if Draxler is to put pen to paper at the Old Trafford. Neither Draxler nor Mkhitaryan would want to become a second choice player in Manchester United.
Manchester United won’t also like to waste money signing similar players in the same transfer window, this gives Arsenal the edge to complete the deal of Mkhitaryan.
